The UK is experiencing a surge in demand for electric vehicles – a trend that is likely to continue apace. Currently there are relatively few public electric vehicle charging points available, so if you have an electric vehicle ideally you need to have a charging point at home, and at work too.
NDM Renewables are at the forefront of facilitating electric vehicle technology.
We are one of the first fitters of a range of top quality EV charging stations from a leading manufacturer across Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire.
We’re City & Guilds qualified to install EV chargers, and can advise you on the best type and mode of charger to suit your vehicle and circumstances.
Electric Vehicles are becoming more commonplace, and wise home-owners are preparing for the future by installing EV home charging points.
NDM fit a wide range of home charging points including the Zappi charger from MyEnergi and the Sync EV charger, both of these make it super easy and extremely economical to plug in and go green. No more having to pay for public charging facilities.
It’s estimated that if you charge your average 40kWh EV overnight at home on the low economy 7 tariff it will cost you as little as 2p per mile to run!
Having EV charging points available at workplaces and commercial premises is a necessity for business owners and operators as the number of electric cars increases by the day. Staff and customers need parking spots with charging points, and the cost of this may seem a little frightening for an SME.
Fortunately, the Government has recognised the need and stepped in to assist businesses with the voucher-based Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS), which is being run by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV).
You can apply for a WCS voucher online, and if you’re deemed eligible your business will be issued with an email voucher with a unique identification code, which can then be redeemed at an OLEV-authorised WCS installer, such as us – NDM Renewables – within four months of its date of issue.
This means that your business can reduce the cost of installing EV charge points by around 75% – you can receive up to £500 per socket with a maximum of 20 charge points per single business.
