About Our Work
Independent EV Charging Fitter
As electric vehicles become increasingly popular, the demand for public charging points has skyrocketed.
However, the availability of these points remains limited, leaving many electric vehicle drivers struggling to find convenient places to charge their cars. And even when stations are accessible, they can often be pricey and time-consuming to use.
To tackle this issue, many electric vehicle owners opt to install charging points at home and work. At NDM Renewables, we take pride in being pioneers in providing top-notch EV charging stations in Somerset and beyond.
Our services aim to make electric vehicle technology more accessible and practical for drivers, offering a greener alternative for everyday transport.
With our City & Guilds qualifications, we’re equipped to install EV chargers for both residential and commercial properties.
This means we can assist businesses and private electric vehicle owners across Somerset in making the switch to eco-friendly transportation options!
Charging at Home
Installing an EV charging station at your home or place of business comes with several benefits for both electric vehicle owners and businesspeople:
– Convenient And Sustainable Energy: With a charger at home, you can effortlessly charge your vehicle overnight. Say goodbye to the hassle of hunting for public charging stations – just stroll to your charging station and plug in before bedtime!
– More Cost-Effective Than Public Charging: Public charging can be significantly pricier, up to 20 times more expensive than charging at home!
– Boosts Property Value: Adding an EV charging point to your property could enhance its value when it’s time to sell!
– WCS Vouchers For Businesses: Worried about the cost of installing EV charging points for your customers and staff? At NDM Renewables, we accept WCS vouchers, potentially saving you up to £500 per socket, and you can redeem them for up to 20 charge points!
The Benefits Of Charging At Home
Charging an electric vehicle can take anywhere from 30 minutes to over 12 hours, depending on factors like battery size and charging speed.
That’s why many EV owners prefer the convenience and cost-effectiveness of charging at home overnight rather than searching for public charging stations.
Charging at home is not only more convenient but also cheaper than using public chargers. For instance, charging an average 40kWh EV overnight on the low 7 economy tariff costs just 2p per mile!
Even if you don’t own an electric vehicle yourself, installing a charging point at your property can still be a smart move. It can increase your home’s selling value by up to 30%, depending on local area averages.
At NDM, we offer a variety of home charging options, including popular choices like MyEnergy’s Zappi charger and the Sync EV charger.
Charging For Business
With the rising popularity of electric vehicles, it’s becoming essential for business owners to think about installing EV charging points at their workplace or commercial premises.
Both staff and customers alike need parking spots equipped with charging points, and without them, businesses could risk losing out on trade and team members.
This might sound daunting for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), many of which operate on thin profit margins and need to keep costs in check to stay afloat.
Fortunately, EV charging points have become more affordable and accessible thanks to the Office for Low Emission Vehicles’ (OLEV) voucher-based Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS).
Here at NDM Renewables, we’re happy to accept WCS vouchers for businesses! Simply apply for a WCS voucher online, and if your business qualifies, you’ll receive an email voucher that can be redeemed at any OLEV-authorised WCS installer within four months of issue.
With the WCS voucher, your business can slash the cost of installing EV charge points by up to 75%, saving you up to £500 per socket! (Maximum of 20 charge points per business).
The Zappi charger by MyEnergi offers a speedy solution for charging electric vehicles. With its integration of low-cost energy tariffs and solar charging system, the Zappi charger helps you save money while powering up your EV with cheaper and greener energy overnight!
You can choose between two power options for the Zappi charger: the 7kW 1ph, ideal for homes and domestic properties, and the 22kW 3ph, commonly used in workplaces and commercial settings. If your modern home has 3-phase supplies, you might benefit from the rapid charging rates of the 22kW 3ph option.
There are two connection options available for the Zappi: the Type 2 Tethered and Untethered versions.
The Type 2 Tethered version includes a cable attached to the unit, providing continuous power. It comes with a Type 2 plug suitable for most modern EVs, except for early Type 1 models. On the other hand, Untethered chargers do not come with a cable, requiring you to use a separate cable for charging your vehicle.
Meet your smart EV charging solution: the BG SyncEV charger! Loaded with Smart technology and Integrated SolarCharge, BG SyncEV charging stations bring EV charging into the modern era, offering renewable energy options and cutting-edge technology.
With tethered and untethered options, both featuring WiFi connectivity, OTA updates, and Smart! functionality, the BG SyncEV charger provides dynamic charging of up to 7.4 kW. It can juice up an average 60kW electric vehicle in just 8 hours, making it perfect for overnight charging.
Enjoy the benefits of cost-effective home charging with the BG SyncEV charger, thanks to economy and times-of-use electricity tariffs that help keep costs down, especially during off-peak charging hours. One standout feature of the Smart technology is its Smart Scheduling function, allowing your EV to charge using sustainable energy from sources like solar, wind, or water.
Charging your EV with the BG SyncEV is a breeze – simply plug your vehicle into the smart charge point, set the time using the smart functionality, wait for the charging to finish, and you’re good to go!
